what are your convictions now that you are no longer one of jehovah's witnesses?
are you a born again christian?
have you joined another denomination of christianity?
Just spotted an error: I was a post-secondary school instructor at a college level technical institute and not a secondary school instructor.

I got involved with the witnesses at age 16 and was baptized by them. This was in 1957 when the baptisms were more Biblical than today. I was "in" for a fairly brief time of one year when, because of intense family opposition, my activities with the witnesses essentially came to a halt. I did manage to sneak to meetings occasionally for about another year then began the process of fading. My departure from the witnesses was finalized with my departure from home to enter active duty with the U.S. Navy in 1960.
Twenty one years later I transferred to the Fleet Reserve (retired) and began work as a secondary school instructor. For several years I did study with witnesses and attend meetings at the hall but never let anyone know that I had former involvement. I was driven by curiosity to find to satisfaction whether the witnesses truly were "the truth" as they claim. When a teenager during my first encounter it did seem a possibility but I always had nagging doubts even then.
I finally came to the realization that they are not "the truth" fourteen years ago. While I did search to find some group or organization which did have the Truth it ultimately became very clear that there is not anywhere on Earth any group or organization which has the unadulterated Truth. At first this was disappointing and difficult to accept but now it seems to be evidence of a divine plan. For some reason it is not yet time for any of us to experience the real Truth in any organized way with any group or religion.
Fortunately, after a year of intensive Bible reading and independent study free from any literature or outside interpretations, I had a better idea of what I wanted to search for. I began searching for writings of Bible scholars, formally educated and otherwise, to see whether any of the writings held more truth than the self proclaimed "truth" of the WT Society or any other "religion."
The search has borne fruit. I have made such discoveries. As a result I have now a newly acquired deep respect for our Heavenly Father of Love and Great Wisdom; His faithful Son who came to Earth to show us The Way; and have discovered that the Love of this dynamic duo encompasses ALL of the creation. That we are experiencing and living a Plan which is just beginning. A Plan which will successfully manage to bring ALL humanity to Life. For most of us it is difficult to comprehend why there is so much wickedness, murder, mayhem, wars, destruction, famine, starvation, psychopath governments, etc, etc, etc... Yes, it is very difficult. We are assured, however, by The Word that all will be made Good as we transition through various stages of the Plan which will aid us in developing the ability to Love as our Creator intends. In other words, there is some Really Good News.
Many XJws have endured more than they were able to bear emotionally while in the Cult and as a result have seemingly "lost faith" in the Heavenly Family. Fortunately, those abused souls yet crave what is good and just and strive to live the life of love for their fellow man. This state of mind is well understood by those who watch us from above and it is not held against anyone. In due time all will be healed and made whole.
No, I am not associated with any religion or group. I'm just a solitary Bible Believer still studying and discovering how immense is the Love of our Father and His Son.
While in the Navy I did encounter several XJws and heard of many more. I had a friend (Sailor) in Japan whose wife was an active JW who traveled weekly from the Naval Station Yokosuka to a congregation in Tokyo to attend meetings. Some of the XJws in the Navy applied for Conscientious Objector status to be discharged from active duty. Not many were successful.
trying not to type swearwords as i write this so bare with me.. my little 3yo attends meetings with her jw mum (who doesn't believe watchtower anymore but is stuck in because she relies on her family for help).
my mum (the one who tells people im dead) had a party for her grandchildren.
that's my 4 nieces and 1 nephew aged from 3yo-11yo.

It's unfortunate that she had to learn exclusion and sadness from "Jehovah's people".
Satan's People, the Judeans, made the same erroneous claim. By their fruitage we are able to identify them... Whatever "good" they formerly had within them has been destroyed by the WTBorg Cult Inc. and the "god" they truly serve.
Aye, true Love treats ALL with kindness and respect. You're teaching your daughter the true meaning of Love.
aw shucks___________.
her voice caught my ear.
“i’m gonna jerk a knot in yer tail!”.
Those two speak a language often heard in Bluegrass Country. Warms one's heart. Real people!
new system, brother, sister , kingdom hall, wordly person, in the truth .
there is a whole jw language that has to be deprogrammed..
Aye, you've hit this nail squarely on its head!

Most cults start their induction by trying to stop both individualistic and critical thinking like the army their job is the first to break you than remake you as one of them. thought i'd start a separate discussion on the subject.. those who know me know i'm struggling with faith; i want to believe, some days i do but it becomes difficult.. many believers say there is verifiable proof of jesus' existence outside of the bible.. please post this proof..

Aye, I am aware that some hold this belief. I understand why such belief is appealing.
For myself, The Word is Truth. I has been confirmed by faith.

Quotes from Unsure:
If you are attributing complexity to a creator, ok, but then what is stopping another religion from being the correct one and yours being wrong?
To rephrase, what is stopping Zeus from being the creator of this complexity and not Jesus?
Good questions. We must examine the record, such as it exists, to get some idea. Who in the record makes the claim?
Whoever created what we see and enjoy in all its incredible diversity and detail was truly a genius. For myself, I have come to believe in The Father and The Son because of the evidence which abounds. But certainly not the Father and Son which the WTBorg Inc. have shown us by their "preaching" and their actions. The Fruitage of the Holy Spirit does not reside in a Cult.
hello to all, so i did want to talk about this topic because i think it is very important to me.
i have a grandfather who faded several decades ago.
he occasionally attends an assembly and the memorial but no longer attends meetings or goes on field service.
Quote from Finkelstein:
I've heard awful stories of adolescents who were still living with their parents be made out as big anti JWS which resulted in their parents forcing them out the home.
This isn't possible in California unless the head of the household obtains an "eviction" through the Court. Evictions are granted only for good reason. Unless the adolescent is aware that they're protected by the law they may not press the issue. 911 calls can be very helpful for an adolescent, or any other family member, who is being forced from their home by family.
i met with a jw today and they showed me a picture of the new style kh build.
the building was located in a ***strip mall**** in florida.
i'm always amazed (and disgusted) at the new and inventive ways they think of expanding their real estate holdings.. along that vein...i recently discovered this: .

Slumming it, Evangelical Christendom-style...
Astute observation! The WTBorg Inc. must be greatly concerned about their dwindling appeal and the resurgence of Evangelical Christendom which is growing by leaps and bounds.
Quote from the Article:
Evangelical Christianity is “the fastest-growing faith movement in the world,” boasting as many as “700 million believers” and adding 50,000 new adherents daily, with each new “believer” representing another potential advocate for Israel, Parsons said.
The Battle for the Big Bucks must go on!
